This Norton Commando 750 is one of those rare finds. A genuine UK bike, it hasn’t been on the road since the 1992 and has been stored away carefully, covered in protective grease since then.
I bought this wonderful example with the idea of putting it through our workshops, re-commissioning it and getting it running but unfortunately this time of year were incredibly busy and that isn’t going to happen.
We have cleaned the grease that was used to protect the machine and some parts are in excellent condition as are the wheel rims, headlamp shell I mudguards.
The downpipes are also good but the silencers are badly corroded, as can be seen in the pictures, I think that’s where the silencing wool has absorbed moisture and they have rusted from the inside out.
The engine turns over, the gears select and the clutch engages and disengages as it should. The tyres are as old as the hills, the brakes seized and the throttles stuck and the machine is being sold as a non-running project for either re-commissioning or restoration, the choice is yours.
Nevertheless its all there, registered with DVLA and an absolute bargain for a Norton Commando.
