The Suzuki T500 was one of the first big performance two strokes available in the late 1960s and early 70s.
Known as the Suzuki Titan or Cobra, the T500 offers a surprising amount of torque for a 500cc twin and you can short shift and make rapid progress without the need for a huge amounts of revs which makes for quite a relaxing ride.
But make no mistake, when the taps are opened the T500 really does fly and gives us a surprising performance package.
This particular example has been completely rebuilt and restored, with new crank seals main bearings and rods. However, it’s still retains its standard bores and pistons as they were perfectly good and within tolerance.
The rest of the machine has been fully cosmetically refurbished as you can see and looks quite resplendent in its new paint work and chrome.
A lovely bike to ride, I know, I have spent one or two evenings enjoying this machine and it will give its owner great pleasure, I’m sure.
